Hendrik co-founded Earlybird in 1997 and brings over 27 years of investment, operational, and entrepreneurial experience. His current domain focus is on the DeepTech vertical. Hendrik currently serves on the boards of Earlybird’s portfolio companies Marvel Fusion, Isar Aerospace, Greenlyte, Aiven, Onefootball, Simscale, and eleQtron.

He has served as an EVCA (European Venture Capital Association) board member and Chairman of the EVCA Venture Capital Platform Council. Before establishing Earlybird, Hendrik was a Partner with McKinsey where he led McKinsey’s small and mid-sized company initiatives and actively supported the creation of McKinsey New Venture.

Hendrik holds a Dipl.Ing. (MSc equivalent) and a PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering.

is that people make the difference, constructive collaboration is a prerequisite for real influence and value creation, thinking big while remaining grounded is THE challenge and trends should be utilized, not fought.

while sailing, when we lost our mast and started to sink in a thunderstorm with 65 knots of wind. I was only 17 and already swimming in the water before rescued. That I will never forget.
