Johannes joined Earlybird in 2023 as Head of Risk, based in the Berlin office. He brings over 15 years of experience in risk management within the financial industry, specializing in alternative asset classes.

Before joining Earlybird, Johannes spent 8 years at Aquila Capital, where he managed risk functions for funds invested in renewables, energy transition, real estate, infrastructure, and private equity. He also led a risk team at Deutsche Bank in Asset & Wealth Management and began his career in alternative investments at Allianz.

Johannes holds certifications as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and in Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR). He has a Master’s-equivalent degree in economics from Humboldt University Berlin and a Master of Arts from the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar.
